This year’s “Star Spangled Spectacular” free concert and Independence Day celebration will take place Thursday, July 2 at Public Square. Loras John Schissel will conduct the Cleveland Orchestra in a concert at 9 p.m. featuring works by Gershwin, Sousa, Rodgers and, of course, Tchaikovsky’s “1812” Overture. Fireworks will immediately follow the concert, weather permitting. Pre-concert festival activities begin at 5 p.m.
