Globally known as “The Glitz,” this year’s fundraiser for Lake Hospital System was Alla Buona Salute!
Italian for “To your good health!” the party delivered fun at every turn of LaMalfa. About 600 supporters of Lake Hospital System filled the facility.
Many guests started with a world wine tasting sponsored by John Palmer’s Bistro 44.
The ballroom featured more than 100 silent auction packages including many wine baskets. A 10-day penthouse stay in Brussels Belgium was an especially hot item. Hard- working organizers of The Glitz dressed up some benefit standbys to make additional donations to Lake Hospital System painless and fun. Raffle? No. “Cashpalooza” with 100 tickets sold at $100 each for two big cash prizes. Chinese Raffle? No. “Barrels of Fun” low cost tickets went to individual drawings for restaurant packages or a large flat screen LCD TV.
Additionally, “wine pulls” where guests blindly selected wines included some real bargains since some bottles came with restaurant gift cards.
Lead sponsors for The Glitz were Chase Bank and Steris Corp.
