Autism Speaks

It may have been the party of the summer, if not the entire year.

Iron Chefs Michael Symon and Mario Batali were just two of the 21 top chefs in Cleveland for this event attended by 700 guests at the Cleveland Museum of Art. More than $250,000 was raised for Autism Speaks.

Guests had the opportunity to try signature dishes from the best chefs in town.

For those who donated at a higher level, there was an interactive dinner preparation led by Chefs Symon and Batali, who have a great time ribbing each other. Their enthusiasm for food is contagious and they have a great habit of making everyone feel part of the conversation. And those who had enjoyed the “tasting,” were still invited to the “show” while enjoying cocktails.

Visionary artist Seth Chwast, who has exhibited his work all over the world, and was diagnosed with autism at an early age, gave a pair of special paintings to the Iron Chefs.

Hats off to gala co-chairs Genevieve Baurer and Bill Carson, Jim and Jen Sammon and Shari and Michael Goldberg for cooking up a spectacular party. STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHS BY SALI McSHERRY
