ChamberFest Cleveland “Verve Gala”

An unforgettable musical program was presented by ChamberFest Cleveland’s co-artistic directors Franklin Cohen, principal clarinet of The Cleveland Orchestra, and his daughter Diana Cohen, concertmaster of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, performing with Roman Rabinovich and David von Behren.

Some 125 guests began the evening at the home of Richard Fleischman, the architect of the neighboring home of Janet and Dr. Eugene Blackstone where the concert was held. Julienne Hillyer catered the buffet supper, accompanied by wines from Vintage Wine Distributors, for guests to enjoy while bidding on a silent auction. People either walked or were transported by Lolly the Trolley next door to the Blackstones’ spectacular home designed to accommodate a grand piano and two massive pipe organs.

After remarks by ChamberFest Board Chairman Nancy Osgood, Mr. Cohen opened the musical program. The entire concert was simply magnificent! STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHS BY KATHRYN RIDDLE
