Children’s Museum of Cleveland “Imagine”

A sold-out crowd of 450 people enjoyed a night of whimsy and play in the new home of the Children’s Museum of Cleveland during “Imagine.”

Guests entering the beautiful Stager Beckwith Mansion, which dates back to the 1800s, saw the dream of the museum – and the success of their capital campaign — become a reality.

But that campaign continues as the museum diligently works to raise the remaining $800,000 it needs toward its goal. The museum is set to open to the public Nov. 5.

Gala attendees in cocktail attire were treated to a sneak peak of the museum, with many enjoying the various exhibits, such as a Wonder Lab and Adventure City. In a massive tent out back, guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner by Doug Katz of fire food and drink, dancing and dessert.

SoulWork Music provided entertainment, and Jennifer Lopez chaired the event.

Taking center stage was the mansion itself, made even more magical by the atmosphere created by Stephen M. Tokar, of Tokar Event Design.

Proceeds from Imagine support the museum’s efforts to re-invent itself in a new location, which is the last remaining Millionaire’s row mansion available for repurpose. The museum used to be located at University Circle.

The museum’s new home doubles the exhibit space and offers three times the space for parking. The museum’s new design, led by Karen Katz who worked along with a team, serves to foster imagination and emotional, intellectual and physical development through play.
