Cleveland International Film Festival “Opening Night Gala”

The Cleveland International Film Festival kicked off its 39th season with an opening night gala party at the Post Office Plaza in Tower City Center.

This year’s film festival also marked the 25th year at Tower City Cinemas, celebrating the festival’s silver anniversary of the silver screen.

The festival opened with the screening of, “I’ll See You in My Dreams,” a movie starring actress Blythe Danner. Film director Brett Haley and producer Rebecca Green welcomed guests to the screening and attended the gala after the film showing. Dan Serbin represented Cleveland-based company Parker, sponsor of this year’s Festival (CIFF). Dollar Bank served as presenting sponsor for the third year in a row. After seeing the opening film, hundreds of guests moved to the Post Office Plaza where they enjoyed lavish hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, music and dancing.

The 2015 CIFF, held from Mar. 18 through Mar. 29, included more than 190 feature films and 220 short films representing 60 countries. Although Tower City Cinemas remained the festival’s hub, other film screening locations were Chagrin Cinemas in Chagrin Falls, the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gartner Auditorium and The Nighlight in Akron.
