Cleveland Public Theatre “Pandemonium”

One of the year’s most anticipated parties is “Pandemonium” at Cleveland Public Theatre. The event is amazingly festive, diverse, and reflective of the spirit of Cleveland Public Theatre. This year’s theme, “Take Flight,” had a whimsical logo of what those words could mean. The entire campus of Cleveland Public Theatre was transformed into an indoor and outdoor party setting. Two hundred events were scheduled across 25 stages. On the theater’s Gordon Square stage, dance companies and musicians performed. Other stages featured cabaret acts, and one presented Sally Groth as Katharine Wright, the younger sister of the Wright Brothers.

Guests sampled foods donated by restaurants, as well as lovingly chosen beers and wines. At this year’s event the entertainment was very closely coordinated with the theme, including aerial acrobats and rock climbers.

A handful of co-chairs worked with the theater’s artistic and business staff to ensure the success of the night. The theater’s Pan Award for a civic leader with arts’ vision went to Beth Mooney, Chairman and CEO of Key Bank. The 1,500 who attended “Pandemonium” were served by almost 200 volunteers, and raised¬† $350,000 for Cleveland Public Theatre. STORY BY ART THOMAS/PHOTOGRAPHS BY ROBERT MULLER
