Cleveland Zoological Society “Animal Attractions”

The Cleveland Zoological Society found supporters of all ages at its annual “Animal Attractions” event. Organized by Zoo staff, guests enjoyed behind-the-scenes looks at the Rainforest as well as informative and often hilarious stories about the love lives of the residents. Tours took supporters “backstage” at the Rainforest to see how reptiles and amphibians are cared for by staff. These visits are not available to Zoo guests, so they were very special and popular. In the public areas, Zoo staff presentations had titles to suggest their content — “Oh Baby, That’s What I Like!,” “50 Shades of Grey: African Elephants’ Social Dynamics” and “Bear Foot & Pregnant” presented by newly promoted Travis Vineyard, Curator of Animals.

At “Animal Attractions,” tastings from a dozen restaurants included filets from Flemings and Korean tacos from Creekside. Sam Adams Brewery hosted an education table with new beers, Jacob’s Creek had wine tastings, and Dewers introduced a honey liquor. The low price of “Animal Attractions” makes the event a bargain, and it is easy to see why hundreds of young people were there. Many were new friends to the Zoo.
