Hand in hand, couples strolled into the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on a perfect summer evening for the second annual Date Night at the ZOOvies, to benefit the Cleveland Zoological Society.
About 550 took part in the sold-out benefit, which was double the size from the previous year. Guests strolled through the Australian Adventure and the African Savanna, while enjoying wine, Great Lakes beer and light appetizers of bistro sandwiches, wraps and humus. Catering was by Aramark.
The highlight of the evening included the viewing of “Back to the Future” in the outdoor amphitheater, with many guests bringing their own blankets and chairs for the cozy night. During the movie they enjoyed complimentary popcorn, soft pretzels, candy, beer, wine and soft drinks.
The target audience for this event was young professionals, who used the evening as a networking tool as well as a date night away from children and families.
Proceeds from the ticket sales benefit conservation projects at the Zoo as well as different exhibits.
