Editor’s Note

After what seemed to be a longer, colder and snowier Northeast Ohio winter than I can recall in quite some time, I’m happy to put the snow shovel away (hopefully for good, but we all know better) and wish you all a happy first day of Spring! May it be the birds, and not the snowplows, that awaken you for the next several months.

In this March issue of Currents, we annually dedicate space for feature stories and information specifically of interest to the gentlemen in our reading audience, much of which can be found in Section A.

This year’s lineup includes: where men go to bond — the last of the all-male bastions in our city (A4); a recap of Cleveland Restoration Society’s community luncheon at which Christopher M. Connor, Chairman and CEO of the Sherwin-Williams Company served as keynote speaker (A8); Hofbrauhaus Cleveland, a restaurant and brewery scheduled to open in the fall in the Dodge Court/Hermit Club area of PlayhouseSquare (A6); Westlake’s successful Griffin Cider Works — English-style ciders which are becoming more and more popular in this country, and are now available for your own taste-testing pleasure in area restaurants and markets (A9); and a preview of fine spring fashion and accessories just for men (A10-11).

“Home Design with Spring in Mind” follows in Section B, with advice and inspiration from area designers for 2014 and suggestions of how you might freshen your interiors for the season.

Real Estate and Sensational Seniors are spotlighted in Section C. Learn about Aurora’s newest community under construction and Howard Hanna’s opening of its new Pepper Pike office (C4). Read about two sensational seniors who have much to teach all of us about the importance of staying active and involved, both mentally and physically (C5).

In the April issue of Currents, watch for the finest in women’s fashion, jewelry and accessories for 2014. We’ll also revisit design trends for Home & Garden for 2014 — because by next month, you will be more than ready to move outdoors to work in your gardens, enhance your landscaping, and ready your decks, porches and patios for the long-awaited season of enjoyment and entertainment outdoors! Enjoy!
