Greater Cleveland Food Bank “Taste of the Browns”

Thomas and former teammate Josh Cribbs rejoined forces with Chef Rocco Whalen of Fahrenheit to co-chair the 2017 Taste of the Browns, as nearly 1,000 people mingled with 34 present and alumni Browns players, and chefs such as Momocho’s Eric Williams and Lago’s Fabio Salerno. The evening fare featured samplings from 32 of Northeast Ohio’s notable restaurants, with delicacies such as Heck’s tuna poke, Lago’s chicken crab salad, Zack Bruell’s BBQ smoked salmon and Deagan’s short-rib pierogies.

Along with a package of Joe Thomas’ favorite things, the many items offered in the raffle, silent and live auctions included a ride on a Goodyear blimp, a Fahrenheit wine mixer for 40 with chef Whalen, and a “Tailgater” package with Al “Bubba” Baker’s Bubba Q.

“The generosity of our community continues to grow,” said Krisin Warzocha, president and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank in a statement. “We’re excited to see the impact we’ll be able to make from this years’ Taste of the Browns.”

The total amount raised by the evening’s activities reached $255,000, a 13 percent increase over 2016, allowing the Food Bank to distribute even more meals to hungry families in Northeast Ohio.
