Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland “All About the Bag”

More than 600 people turned out in support of the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland for its “All About the Bag” benefit held at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven. The benefit raised in excess of $70,000 with donations still rolling in.

Guests were treated to a “project fashion” challenge exhibit by Virginia-Marti College where talented students produced looks crafted only from used food containers. There were also numerous raffles, including one beautifully presented by Alson Jewelers, as well as a handbag raffle with many stunning offerings.

Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were served prior to the fashion show, during which guests were treated to the finest looks from Beachwood Place. The runway featured local celebrities, including NFL player Josh Cribbs. DJ Mimo provided musical entertainment throughout the show,  which was followed by signature sweet treats and a dessert buffet presented by Nordstrom Sixth & Pine.

Michelle Wesley chaired the event, working with a committee of about 20 volunteers.

Funds generated go directly to fight hunger in Cuyahoga County. Every $5 donated can provide a bag of food for a family of four, with the benefit’s proceeds providing enough food for 14,000 families. STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHS BY SUE REID.
