It takes a bit of chutzpah to name your fundraiser the “Best Party of the Year,” but in this case, as in the past 24 years, the title was well-earned, The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland took over the InterContinental Hotel ballroom with great food, lively entertainment, dancing, specialty drinks for the holidays, a wine pull, reverse raffle, silent auction…whew! A great event and a great cause: nearly 600 friends and supporters joined in to raise more than $120,000 to help feed the hungry.
Doors opened at 7 p.m. to food stations from more than a dozen restaurants and caterers. Platinum sponsor Orlando Bakery was there, as well as Americano, Cleveland Chop, Grovewood Tavern and more. It was all a grazer’s delight!
Highlight of the evening was the presentation by event Chair Day Armelli of a check for $35,000 from Marc’s Helping Hungry Families campaign, and presentation of the Orlando Award for Giving to Johnathan Leebow and Majestic Steel USA. There was also a special shout-out to Presenting Sponsor Minute Men Staffing Services.
Working through pantries and hot meal sites in more than 100 locations, the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland serves between 60,000 and 75,000 individuals each month, many of whom are children.
