Magnolia Clubhouse “Wine+Cheese Party”

About 75 people took part in an open house in celebration of Bloomin’ for a Wine+Cheese Party to benefit the Magnolia Clubhouse on University Circle.

Attendees browsed through the beautiful upscale resale shop and member art gallery and enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres provided by Kari Moore of Farm Fresh, in Cleveland Heights.

This “get acquainted” event was co-chaired by Lynn Quintrell and Christeen Tuttle, board members and dedicated volunteers for Magnolia House.

The public was given an opportunity to peruse the treasures inside Bloomin,’ the resale shop, which opened about eight years ago. Admission was free to the beautiful historic house and guests were encouraged to shop the variety of offerings, including fine china, furniture, glassware, books and art, among other affordably-priced offerings.

Magnolia Clubhouse, which serves 75 members a day, serves the needs of individuals with mental illness by offering educational, social and vocational opportunities. At the same time, it fosters pride and personal achievement among those it serves.

An independent nonprofit affiliate of the International Clubhouse Movement, Magnolia Clubhouse offers transitional employment in partnership with local businesses, including University Hospitals, TJ MAXX and the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, among others. The organization dates back to the early 1960s. STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHS BY SUE REID
