Multiple Sclerosis Society Ohio Buckeye Chapter “Dinner of Champions”

The Ohio Buckeye Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society honored Paul Clark, regional president, PNC Bank, Cleveland, at its annual Dinner of Champions.

Lisa Oliver and Alan Zang were co-chairmen of the benefit at the InterContinental Hotel where the evening included cocktails, a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction before dinner and the program. Ed “Flash” Ferenc was emcee of the event attended by more than 300 guests.

Dr. Jeffrey Cohen of the Cleveland Clinic’s Mellen Center for MS Treatment and Research gave a brief synopsis of multiple sclerosis, the unpredictable, potentially disabling disease of the central nervous system. Following his remarks and those of Teresa Smith who was diagnosed with MS in 1999, auctioneer Bob Hale conducted a pledge drive for MS research, raising nearly $18,000.

Ms. Oliver and Mr. Zang presented Mr. Clark with the Norman Cohn Hope Award, the National MS Society’s most prestigious award in recognition of his exemplary leadership, community service and philanthropy. STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHS BY KATHRYN RIDDLE
