Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital “Ride the Rainbow”

More than 1,000 people converged upon Cleveland Public Auditorium for Rainbow Babies & Children’s Foundation’s Ride the Rainbow benefit. This year’s theme, “Do What Moves You,” celebrated wellness through active and healthy lifestyles. The event’s honorary chairs were Char and Chuck Fowler and their family.

An outdoor reception kicked off the festivities. Jim Tressel, president of Youngstown State University and former head football coach at Ohio State, served as emcee. Members of the Inlet Dance Theatre provided entertainment throughout the evening. After dinner, when the dance music began, they got the dance floor hopping by inviting guests to join them.

A late-night discounted ticket was offered in an effort to involve more people – like millennials and staff. The reduced rate included an open bar, snacks and dancing until midnight to music by the group, Your Generation in Concert.

Ride the Rainbow 2016 raised $1.5 million for University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s. Congratulations to gala chairs Jill Harrington, Terri Kennedy and Elizabeth Spencer! STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHS BY CAROLINE R. MERK
