More than 1,100 people converged upon the new Cleveland Convention Center for Ride the Rainbow, the huge biennial fundraiser for Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital (RBCH). This year’s thseme was “Superheroes Unite!” Children from Stagecrafters Youth Theatre lined the entrance greeting guests.

Deb Crawford and Stacey Hanna were the chairladies responsible for this successful event. Both are trustees of the RBC Foundation. The honorary chairs were Barbara Ruhlman and Mary and Terry Fergus.

The reception featured specialty cocktails, excellent hors d’oeuvres and a chance to bid on the fabulous silent auction. Costumed Superheroes added to the festivities! Dinner was served in the Grand Ballroom, with centerpieces handcrafted by students at Willoughby-Eastlake Technical Center. Pieter Bouterse Studio executed the atmospheric, Superhero-themed décor. WKYC Channel 3 news anchor, Kris Pickel, was mistress of ceremonies during the program, paddle raise and live auction. The evening concluded with dancing to The Spazmatics.

The generous presenting sponsor was PNC Bank. Corporate co-chairs were Joel Adelman and Greg Skoda. Ride the Rainbow 2014 set a record by raising more than $1.4 million!
