“Grand Voyage” to benefit Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens was an elegant, black-tie affair that drew almost 500 people to the grand estate built by F.A. Seiberling, the founder of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.
Guests were greeted by co-chaircouples, Beth and Marty Hauser and Leslie and Jim Pickard. The receiving line continued inside with Ed and Linda Conrad, Stan Hywet executive director, and board chair, Steve Cox. Guests were ushered outside onto the beautiful West Terrace for a cocktail reception.
Each year, there is an opportunity to bid on one very exclusive live auction package: a formal dinner party for 20 people in the dining room of Stan Hywet. The package includes a champagne reception, a seven-course meal with wine pairings and live entertainment. This one-of-a-kind experience went for $25,000!
Dinner was catered by A Taste of Excellence and served under a tent. As soon as the Jerry Bruno Orchestra started playing, guests were up and dancing, which continued until midnight.
“Grand Voyage” raised $150,000. Proceeds will help ensure the continued preservation of the historic national treasure. STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHS BY CAROLINE R. MERK
