The Scott Hamilton CARES Initiative – “An Evening with Scott Hamilton and Friends”

The annual ice-skating extravaganza, “An Evening With Scott Hamilton & Friends,” drew 6,000 people to Quicken Loans Arena. In honor of its 15th anniversary, the show featured 15 world-class skaters. A number of them were also Olympic champions, like Jeffrey Buttle, who choreographed the production. They performed to the music of Grammy-award winning singer and songwriter, Michael Bolton. Scott Hamilton served as host, along with a special appearance by fellow Olympic gold medalist, Dorothy Hamill.

Following the terrific show, 700 guests attended a black-tie gala dinner at the Renaissance Hotel. Perennial chairlady, Maria Miller, created an elegant and special event!

After being successfully treated for cancer at the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Insitute in 1999, Mr. Hamilton founded The Scott Hamilton CARES Initiative. Since that time, more than $14 million has been raised to fund 37 innovative cancer research projects. Proceeds from this year’s event of $1.2 million will support ongoing research.
