Western Reserve Historical Society “Somewhere in Time”

Western Reserve Historical Society (WRHS) hosted its fourth annual Somewhere in Time fundraiser at its University Circle location. A record number of 500 people turned out despite frigid temperatures, snow and icy conditions.

Every year the theme takes guests back to a different era in American history. This year’s party, Cruisin’ Thru the Fabulous Fifties, celebrated the culture of the 1950s. Guests were encouraged to dress accordingly. There were plenty of poodle skirts, a couple of suave young Frank Sinatras, a few tough James Dean types, and an Elvis or two! Interim WRHS president and CEO, Kelly Falcone-Hall, rocked a Rita Hayworth look.

Grosvie Cooley returned for the fourth year as chair of this getting-bigger-and-better-every-year event. Her co-chairwoman was, Cindy Bruml, who channeled Audrey Hepburn for the evening. The honorary chairperson was longtime WRHS supporter, Scott Isquick, and his wife, Pam.

The VIP Patron Party included a tasting from Cleveland Whiskey. During the reception, there was so much to see and explore, from the silent auction, to the antique automobiles, vintage designer dresses and restored Euclid Beach carousel! Dinner was catered by A Taste of Excellence. A dessert buffet, costume contest, dancing and a late-night raffle concluded the festivities.

The event raised nearly $170,000. Proceeds will support the collections, resources and programming at WRHS.
